To introduce the idea of decorating a tree with ornaments to Jo, I made a felt tree with felt ornaments that she could decorate over and over and over again. She has loved it so far.

This weekend we started pulling out decorations before heading to Elgin to pick out our tree. Jo liked the mini fake trees I used to take to work with me so I told her she should put one in her room. I didn’t see, but Paul noticed her running back and forth from the living room and wondered what she was up to. Turns out she was carrying the felt ornaments from her felt tree into her room to put them on her mini-tree.

I thought this was the sweetest thing. This second picture is of her “watering” her tree.

We brought home our tree this afternoon…

… and decorated it while eating the gingerbread cookies she decorated and watching the Muppet Christmas Carol (though Jo doesn’t really care about watching things on tv). She helped us put a star on top and then wanted to add one of “her” ornaments to it.
