Our annual trip to Port Aransas always falls close to the anniversary of my dad’s death. It is easy to get overwhelmed by the vastness of the ocean. It can make you feel small. But it also reminds me of the wonders of this planet. On the beach you are surrounded by life. Those birds, that jelly fish, that crab. Scoop up a handful of sand and you will find so many small things living there. Beautiful, complicated, difficult, ugly, precious life. I’m just doing my best and I see you are, too. We are in this together and you are never alone.
