Not long ago Jo and I had a SUPER ambitious adventure day. We left the house really early and were gone all day long doing fun things. It took some planning and preparation but we managed it… and we even got in two naps while out and about. Not bragging here… I am amazed we did it. We didn’t do anything ELSE that week while I recovered, but this day was lots of fun.

We left pretty early, had a snack in the car and then hit up a petting zoo at BookPeople.

We got to pet a bunny, a chinchilla (so soft!!), a guinea pig, and the bearded lizard. I was under the impression that they would have ducklings which was why I wanted to take Jo so badly. No suck duck, but we still had a good time.

When we left, Jo fell asleep in the car (yes!). Mommy parked, got some reading in, and then we had lunch at The Tavern (yes, I guess it technically is a bar). Mommy got her favorite sandwich ever (veggie burger with pineapple ring and teriyaki sauce) and THE best potato chips you will EVER eat while Jo had her packed lunch.

By now it was time for our regular storytime so we hit the library.

When we left, Jo took her second nap on the way home. Doesn’t sound like a lot, huh? But it sure did take a lot of work. Back in the day I would periodically call in “sick” to work and have an Adventure Day so I am glad to share the tradition with Jo. Mine were a bit more spontaneous but… oh, how life has changed. 🙂
